Mourinho vs Guardiola: The Picture Story of Two Great Managers

Mourinho once played the role of an adviser to Pep while working as an interpreter in Barcelona. He told him “One day you will be a manager and I know you are going to do well as a coach”

But when Pep eventually became a manager some years after there was no room for advise anymore. Rather he told him to stay off and mind his business while he also faced his own business.

Mourinho tried distracting Pep from his job while in charge of Barcelona and Mourinho was in charge of Inter Milan. Mourinho side scaled through on 3-2 aggregate after defeating Pep’s side 3-1 at San Siro, while Pep side won 1-0 at Camp Nou

But when Mourinho eventually came to Spain, their relationship became sour. Most importantly after Pep’s side defeated Mourinho’s side 5-0. That was Mourinho’s worst defeat as a coach and he did not see that coming so soon. In fact, they exchanged pleasantries without looking at each other’s face in Spain

Soon the sour relationship that existed between the two managers reflected on the field of play, El Classico became a war field as the spirit of sportsmanship was set aside

When fighting on the field did not affect managers, Ronaldo chose to fight for his manager by disrespecting Pep during one of the matches, as he practically pushed him while at the touch-line.

The rivalry was so heated that Mourinho denied before a Journalist that Pep had not beaten him seven times when both managers were about to clash in the UEFA Super Cup. Eventually, Pep defeated him again for the eighth times while in charge of Bayern and Mourinho was in charge of Chelsea

After 16 previous meetings, Pep win 8, Mourinho win 3 and 5 matches ended in draw, both managers are set to renew their rivalry in England with two English top clubs, what next??
