Defending champions of the English Premier League Chelsea, are not in the title race, but it seems they may play a major role in determining whom they will hand over the baton to, as the two major contenders (Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur) are yet to play their second leg match with Chelsea.

Leicester City who are on top will be meeting Chelsea on last day of match May 15, and it will be to their advantage if they have won the League before that day. Leicester beat Chelsea at Kings Power stadium in first leg of match, after which former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was sacked.

That defeat was Leicester’s only defeat against Chelsea in their last seven meetings, with the remaining six all going in favour of the defending champions. Chelsea who will be playing at home on that day will be doing Tottenham a favour that is if Leicester’s loss in the match will deny them the title. Chelsea may also seek to get their pound of flesh.

More so, Tottenham who are seated on the second position and will be playing Chelsea on Monday May 2, have defeated Chelsea on one occasion in their last seven meetings. But that was while at their home, but now they will have to travel to Stamford bridge to face the defending champions. The best result Tottenham have gooten at Stamford bridge in their last seven meetings is a draw.

So, its all up to Chelsea to decide on who is likely to go home with the title.
