The Super Falcons secured the African Women’s Cup of Nations ticket today at Abuja after Igbinovia netted an all important second goal for the Falcons to put them through to the tournament.
The qualification came after Nigeria defeated Senegal 2-0 at the National Stadium, Abuja on Tuesday evening, an aggregate score of 3-1 was made possible after the defeat.
Igbinovia Osarenoma is the heroine for the day as her goal sealed victory for Florence Omgabemi’s ladies at the expense of the her Senegalese counterpart.
Nigeria will join Egypt, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea, Zimbabwe and hosts Cameroon. The remaining four teams will be decided on Tuesday out of the four teams.
The final tournament is scheduled for 19 November – 3 December in the Cameroonian cities of Yaounde and Limbe.
