Former Barcelona forward Pedro Rodriguez was in action for Chelsea as they thrashed Aston Villa by 4-0 at their home.
Chelsea opened scoring in the first half through Ruben Loftus-Cheek at 26 minutes of play to take the lead, giving Hiddinks men hope, with about 3 minutes of play at injury time before half time, Alexandre Pato scored a penalty, giving the blues 2-0 lead before half time.
Pedro Rodriguez did not waste time after half time to score the third goal in the 46 minutes of play, before scoring his second and fourth goal for Chelsea in 59 minutes.
Although Chelsea moved to ninth position, their fate will however be determined after Liverpool complete their outstanding match.
