Defending champions Sevilla, came from behind to earn a draw against Shakhtar Donetsk in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final in Lviv.
Sevilla took the lead through an early goal in 6 minutes of play through Vitolo, before Marlos equalized for the host in 23 minutes of play. Shakhtar did not relent in their equalizing, as they went ahead in the 35′ minutes to score a second goal through Stepanenko, putting the host in the lead before half time.
The defending champion seems to be under pressure, as they mounted pressure on the Ukrainian side to at least get an equalizer. Their effort paid off, when a penalty was awarded and Kevin Gameiro’s converted the late penalty into a goal, giving the Spaniards a draw.
The second leg of the encounter will be played next week.
