The coast is clear for Leicester City to start a one-horse race towards the Premier League title, as West Brom forced title contenders Tottenham to a 1-1 draw at The Lane stadium.
Spurs took the lead in the first half through an own-goal scored by Dawson in the 33rd minutes, putting the host in the drivers seat and also maintaining their five points trail of Leicester City. Though, Spurs possessed the ball more, they could not score another goal even before half-time.
The second half still continued until Dawson who scored the own-goal decided to put things right for his side by scoring the second goal of the match but for his side this time. The goal which came in the 73rd minutes spoiled Tottenham’s hope but opened a way for Leicester City.
Tottenham Hotspur’s ambition of becoming title holder went sour and it became clear that they had given up on the title race.
Leicester City will need just one win to be crowned champions of England, as they are to play Manchester United in their next match, before Everton and Chelsea on the last day of league.
