Leicester City are now champions of Premier League for the first time in their history, as a prodigal-like Tottenham wasted a two-goal lead to draw with Chelsea 2-2 at full time.

All thanks go to Chelsea who did Leicester City a favour by ensuring that the game ended in a draw at Stamford bridge.

Tottenham players shocked after the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge

Though Tottenham took the lead in the first half through Harry Kane and Son Heung-min goals, Chelsea ruined their hope when Gary Cahill and Eden Hazard scored and equalized to give the Leicester City maximum celebration.

The match was filled with intrigue, suspense and action. Tottenham’s only hope to win their first title since 1961 was to win their last three games, a draw with Chelsea tonight, marked the end of their adventure.

But the main beneficiary and hero of tonight match is Leicester City, who were described as the most unlikeliest of triumphs  in the history of team sport, but tonight they are champions of England.

It will be recalled that Leicester City’s celebration was delayed by their 1-1 draw against Manchester United, which probably gave Tottenham the impetus that there is hope for them in the premier league title.

Congratulations to Leicester City and Claudio Ranieri, who has made a remarkable record with the team to have won his first league title alongside his team.
