The defending champions of the premier league, Chelsea, are set to handover the premier league title to Leicester City when they take on Tottenham in a crucial match at Stamford bridge today.

Chelsea who are currently 10th on the premier league table, with 47 points after 34 matches, are trailing Stoke City who are 9th on the table with 48 points after 36 matches. A win for Chelsea today will take them to the 9th position with 50 points, while a draw will still take them to 9th position but they will level on point with Stoke City.

Though Chelsea know that they would be doing Leicester a favour if they win or draw with Tottenham, they will be more concerned about their own interest, which is winning their remaining four matches and hoping that some upset could be caused somewhere along the line that will be of interest to them.

Interestingly, Chelsea’s last four meetings with Tottenham at Stamford bridge went in favour of the blues, with three wins and one draw, predicting that the blues could likely play for pride in this match and at least get a point.

It will be recalled that Manchester United denied Leicester an early celebration yesterday, when they played a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford, making it impossible for the Foxes to celebrate.
