Following the confirmation of the sack of Manchester United Manager Louis Van Gaal, the stage is now set for former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho to come on board and meet his old friend and close rival Pep Guardiola, whom he once had a clash with while he had a stint with Real Madrid in Spain.

Head-to-head records favours the former Barcelona manager ahead of the former Chelsea boss. Both managers have met 16 times with Guardiola winning 8 times while Mourinho 3 times, the remaining 5 ended in a draw.

Both Managers are likely going to meet at least four times in the next two seasons, and this will give both managers an opportunity to continue their head-to-head count. While Pep will seek to increase his lead, Mourinho will seek to meet up with his arch-rival, who coincidentally is in charge of United’s arch-rival Manchester City.
