Luis Suarez has emerged as the highest goal scorer for the 2016 season in the Spanish La Liga with 40 goals, while Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi emerged second and third with 35 and 26 goals respectively.
The Uruguan whose hat-trick against Granada widened the gap between him and Cristiano Ronaldo also emerged as top scorer across European leagues with 40 goals.
Last year the Uruguan came close to the top by finishing second, while Ronaldo finished top, but this season his hat-trick in the final match gave him an edge over the Portuguese who finished second behind him.
The 40 goals also make Suarez emerge as the 12th winner of the Pichichi award.
