Ronaldo Drags Sinking Portugal Into Knockout Stage Of Euro 2016

Cristiano Ronaldo proved his worth and loyalty to his country, as he scored twice at Parc Olympique Lyonnais stadium to ensure that Portugal that was at the verge of being kicked out of the Euro 2016 tournament is salvaged, and retraced it step back to the knockout stage of the tournament.

Portugal qualified as one of the best losers, but it was actually the two goals from the Real Madrid forward in the second half, that made them level up with the scoreline finishing at 3-3.

Hungary took the lead in all three occasions, with Gera opening scoring for Hungary in 19th minutes, before Nani leveled up in 42 minutes with the scoreline ending at 1-1 before half time.

Though Dzsudzsak put Hungary on the lead on two occasions in the second half, Ronaldo was good in the business of rescuing Portugal in all two occasions.

The two goals did not just qualify Portugal, but it also made Cristiano Ronaldo become the first player to score in four European championships. He scored in 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016.

Portugal will play against Croatia in the knockout stage of the tournament at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis Lens Agglo on Saturday June 25, 2016.
