The biggest round of 16 match of the Euro 2016 tournament takes place today by 17:00pm at the Stade de France Stadium, as defending champions Spain take on Italy to determine who picks one of the two remaining quarter-final slot in the on going tournament.
Both teams have a pedigree, and will fall back on their strengths to make it to the next round. La Roja are known to be a side with good attacking propensity and will rely heavily on that to seek an edge ahead of their opponent, while the Azzuri’s who are known for their catenaccio style of football which emphasizes more on defense, will look up to counter to enable them get a goal.
The best result the Italians have gotten against Spain in their last five meetings was two draws, with three wins being in favour of Spain, who won one of the matches after penalties and also beat the Italian side 4-0 in the final of the Euro 2012 edition, to win the title for a record third time.
Vicente Del Bousque who guided Spain to successes in last two editions in 2008 and 2012, will be seeking to become the first manager to win the title three consecutive times, knowing full well that the Italians are a side that can deny him such opportunity.
Spain are favourite to win the duel, but the Italians can cause an upset.
