Football enthusiasts, fans and the football community in Africa will be looking up to the burial of the former Super Eagles coach Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, which is expected to come up this month from the 27th to 29th of July, 2016 according to the programme released earlier by the family and the Nigeria Football Federation.
The programme which is expected to start with a night of tribute in Abuja, lying-in-state, church service and a novelty football match before the final burial in Illa, Delta state, which is the ancestral hometown of the late Super Eagles gaffer.
The Delta and Edo state government have all indicated interest to be part of the programme, and shall play significant role towards ensuring that Keshi is given a befitting burial.
Stephen Keshi died on June 8, 2016 in Benin City after complaining of pains and was rushed to the hospital.
