Guardiola Threatens To “Kick Arse” of Players At Manchester City Unveiling, Says Messi Will Not Come To City

Manchester City officially introduced their new manager Pep Guardiola to their supporters on Sunday, and the new manager quickly used that opportunity to warn his players that he is prepared to “kick their arse” if that will make him get result according to theguardian.

Guardiola spoke publicly for the first time after replacing Manuel Pellegrini. The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager officially took charge on July 1, and after being given a tour of the club’s football academy, he addressed about 5,800 fans of the club in Cityzens’s Weekend event.

The 45-year old Spaniard, said English football will present him with a new challenge. “That is why I am here. I proved myself in Barcelona and I proved myself in Bayern, and I want to prove myself in England”.  The players will come to play every game every weekend, so that Manchester City fans can be proud of them.

On the issue of the new manager bringing Lionel Messi to Manchester City after the Barcelona forward has been linked with City, Guardiola ruled out the signing of the Barcelona forward whom he coached while at Barcelona. “Messi is not a bad player, but I am sorry Messi has to stay in Barcelona for the rest of his career, he clarified.

Pep said he wants the people who enjoy football to be proud of what we do, after that maybe we will win our titles. I cannot do that alone, I need the players, the staff and more importantly we need our fans. Without that, it is impossible.

The former Barcelona manager said he will have to meet his players first, though he sees them on TV. I will have to hug them, kick their arse and after, I need time to know them. I played against Manchester in the last two or three years severally. I spoke with Txiki Begiristain the sporting director severally he said.
