An Irish Catholic Priest Father Joe Young has given his blessing to the newly appointed England’s national team manager Sam Allardyce. Father Joe Young on hearing of Sam’s appointment as the new manager of Three Lions of England simply said “God bless Sam”.
Interestingly, Father Joe Young happens to be the first man who handed Sam Allardyce his first job in management, says he’s “absolutely delighted” to see him become England manager.
The Irish Priest approached the then-36-year-old in 1991 to take over the management job at Irish side Limerick, where he was chairman, which Sam accepted and both of them worked as a team.
The Priest who spoke via BBC, said “I’m so happy for him, I said Mass for him this morning, and I will say Mass for him tomorrow morning and God Bless him because he is wonderful,” he added.
