Former Brazilian forward and three-time World Cup winner Pele is expected to storm Lagos for a series of events that will lead to a charity gala in Lagos, Nigeria.
Edson Erantes do Nascimento popularly known as Pele, who was notable for scoring 1,281 goals during his career, will spearhead a youth football tournament that will be played at the Astro-Turf pitch in Ikoyi, as well as meet with leading Corporate organizations in Nigeria.
The event will have teenagers who love playing football with their parents, representatives of various state governments, corporate sector and the Nigeria football federation. Also, a sports clinic , a Gala night with Pele and other African football legends will be on ground to grace the occasion.
This is the second time Pele will be visiting Nigeria, the first being in 1967 when football was used to emphasis on the 2-day cease fire during the Nigerian Civil War which allowed the warriors of the war to watch Pele and his then club Santos FC play an exhibition match in Lagos.
