The Nigeria U23 team have threatened to back out of the quarter final clash between Denmark today due to issues of unpaid allowances owed the team.
According to Africanfootball.com, Captain of the team Mikel John Obi had to give his own personal $4,000 to enable the team get the flight to Salvador for the clash against Denmark.
The source confirmed that players in the team say they will boycott the game if their allowances are not paid and this could affect the psychology of the team even if they eventually rescind on their decision and decide to play.
If Nigeria’s U23 may stay away from the clash, this may lead to killing of one of Nigeria’s hope of coming back home with a silverware in the Olympic.
