Arsene Wenger got a thriller home defeat at Emirate stadium as visiting Liverpool started their premier league campaign in grand style, handing over a defeat to Arsenal at home in a match that produced a total of seven goals within 90 minutes of play.
Arsenal took the lead in the first half through Theo Walcott, who got himself back after losing a penalty to score 69 seconds later, but Liverpool seemed more determined and equal to the task as Philippe Coutinho brace and goals from the duo of Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane gave Kopp’s side an away victory.
Arsenal made frantic effort to come out of the 3-4 lead, but Liverpool who were more determined gave the fans at Emirate their first blow of the season, holding on to their lead and denying Arsene Wenger’s men the only goal that would have given them a point in their opener.
