Day 3 of the Rio Olympics game is gone, and Nigeria is yet to win any medal, as the medal table has recorded a total of 39 nations winning at least a bronze, while the United States, China and Australia remain on top respectively.
The only African nation on the table so far is South Africa with one bronze, while other Africa nations are yet to have their names on the list.

Nigeria entered for track and field events(shot put, triple jump) men, tarck and road events (high jump, discus throw)-women, Basketbal-men, football-men, Heptathlon combined event, Boxing, Canoeing Slalom, Rowing, Swimming (after eight years of being away), Table tennis, weightlifting, wrestling, Men’s free style.
While much will be expected from the team by Nigerians, the result that will be realized will be a true reflection of the level of preparations of Nigeria for the Rio games.
Unfortunately, one of the games (Weightlifting) is already concluded, yet Nigeria did not make anything out of it. Nigeria’s greatest hope of winning medal at the Rio Olympic games is the men’s football event.
