Arsenal and Tottenham will clash on Sunday at the Emirate stadium when the two teams go head to head again in their premier league match, after both sides had actively participated in the European champions league encounter during the week.
While Arsenal extended their unbeaten record during the week to six in all competitions against Ludogorets at the champions league, Tottenham were given a home defeat by their German opponent Leverkusen.
Arsenal are currently seated on second position in the premier league table, but are tied on 23 points with Manchester Cheadity and Liverpool who are top and third on the table respectively. Tottenham are however on the fifth position with 20 points.
Their last six head-to-head meetings went in favour of Gunners, who emerged victorious on two occasions , while Tottenham Hotspur won on one occasion, the remaining three meetings ended in a draw.
As the two teams prepare to clash on Sunday, Arsenal who have not won at home in their last six meetings will be hoping to get a win, as this is a sure means of keeping them on top of the table.
On the other hand, Tottenham necessarily need a win to keep their hopes of being in top four alive while they continue to hope that those in the top four could lose points to enable them remain there if they eventually defeat Arsenal.
