Arsenal heaved a sigh of relief as substitute Giroud scores late to ensure that Gunners grab a point at Old Trafford at the expense of a Manchester United side that needed a win. The draw ensures that Arsenal remain unbeaten in all competitions after their loss to Liverpool on the opening day of season.

Manchester United controlled the ball and made serious attempt to see the back of the net, but Arsenal goal keeper Petr Czech denied his former boss’s side an opportunity to score in the first half. Although, Mourinho made serious protest about referee Andre Marriner’s decision to deny Manchester United a first-half penalty when  Nacho Monreal brought down Antonio Valencia in the 18-yard-box.

However, it was Juan Mata who broke the goal drought in the 68th minutes as he puts Manchester United in the drivers seat rewarding the team’s efforts with the first goal of the match and his third goal in the premier league this season.

Manchester United were still in control of the game, and restricted Arsenal from getting into their 18-yard-box, until Oliver Giroud nodded in Chamberlain’s cross at the end side of the post in the 89th minutes, to ensure they share points with Manchester United.

The result may appear to be manageable to United and Mourinho, but it was indeed a bad one, as Manchester United have failed to get a win after playing Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in a season.
