It was an occasion of harvest of goals at Camp Nou as Barcelona thrashed visiting Hercules 7-0 to progress to the next stage of the Copa del Rey on 8-1 aggregate, making their 1-1 first-leg match irrelevant and less significant.

One would have thought that Hercules would have given a more tough fight to the Catalans at Camp Nou after Barcelona managed a draw in the first-leg, but it was rather humiliation. If the match which ended 7-0 at Camp Nou were to be a game of boxing, I am sure that the referee would have just used his discretion to announce a knockout rather than allow Hercules continue facing such punishment which appeared like a game.

Arda Turan played instrumental role in the mauling of Hercules, scoring a hat-trick while Rakitic, Digne, Rafinha and Alcacer all scored one goal each to give Barcelona 8-1 win on aggregate.

The game was over and would have been stopped a long time even before the referee blew the final whistle, but I guess the centre-referee found out that there was no law empowering him to do so, so he had to wait till the last minute.
