Juventus moved seven-point clear off the Serie A table after former Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain’s first half goal gave the Italian giant a slim win over visiting Roma.
The only goal of the match scored by Higuain also made the Argentine forward move to 10 league goals stretching the home side’s lead.
It was barely 14 minutes of play when the Argentine forward blasted the ball from the edge of the area and scored, equalling their own record for the longest home winning streak in Serie A history with just 1-0 victory over arch-rivals Roma.
The victory is a vital one for Juventus, who are now having an advantage to build on as preparations continue for the second half of the season.
