FC Porto scaled through to the round of 16 of the champions league yesterday, after mauling group winners Leicester City 5-0 to qualify for the knock-out stage.
It was the worst defeat any English team would suffer in the UEFA Champions league.
Porto needed to win to guarantee their place in the knockout stage and made the ideal start when Andre Silva headed home to give the host the lead.
The Portuguese side dominated throughout the game, and their quest to scale through to the knockout stage showed in the number of goals the scored, ensuring that nothing hindered them.
The defeat is Leicester City’s worse defeat in the Champions League, even though they finished top of the Group.
