Zinedine Zidane once said he is prepared to face the worst decision in Madrid, but it seems the time is getting close after Los Blancos were knocked out of the Copa del Rey yesterday following a 2-2 draw against Celta Vigo at Blaidos.
Zidane who has been in charge of Madrid since January 2016 once said he is not afraid of being sacked as he knows that one day he will eventually be sacked at Real Madrid.
The 1998 World Cup winner took over the hot-seat at Madrid in January 2016 and has since then led Madrid to their 11th Champions League title, but is yet to win the league and Copa del Rey with Madrid.
Though Madrid are currently on top of the La Liga table and are trailed closely by Sevilla, they still have an outstanding match which gives them an advantage.
The loss to Celta Vigo following the 4-3 aggregate denies Madrid an opportunity to pursue a treble under Zidane for the second time after his side were disqualified last season for use of ineligible player.
Real Madrid is not really a patient club, they talk less about a manager’s previous achievement and are more interested in what you are doing now and would achieve in the future.
It will be recalled that the last time Real Madrid won the La Liga title was under Jose Mourinho.
