Issa Hayatou Defeated By Ahmad Ahmad, After 29 Years As CAF President

After 29 years at the helm of affair of the Confederation of African Football, Issa Hayatou has lost the Presidency and is to be replaced by Ahmad Ahmad.

The Cameroonian lost by 20 votes to 34 in the election that took place today, with the head of the Madagascan FA Ahmad Ahmad winning in the election.

Ahmad a father of two was determined to succeed the Cameroonian and he did all he could to ensure that Africa gets rid of the former CAF president, whose tenure had lots of controversies that were swept under the carpet.

Following this heavy blow from  Ahmad, it is time for him to step aside from the position and hand over the reigns to a new man who would take Africa football to another level.

Ahmad’s victory may have come as a shock to many who had expected Hayatou to hold on to his position as CAF President, but it is a very different story after the election was conducted as Africa will now have a new leader who will tinker the affairs of African football.
