Manchester City are out after a 3-1 defeat in France against Monaco, but lots of issues lingers on the 45-year-old former Barcelona manager who guided City to this shameful and premature exit from the Champions league.

First, Manchester City finished as semifinalist under former manager Pellegrini in the last edition of the champions league, the arrival of Guardiola was expected to have propelled City to reach at least the final, after guiding  Barcelona and Bayern Munich to the semifinals while in charge of the duo. Unfortunately, City crashed out in the round of 16.

City became the first club in the champions league to score 5 goals in the first-leg and yet crashed out in the second-leg, an ugly dent to the club which was achieved under Pep Guardiola.

Guardiola had hoped to celebrate his 100th European competition games in style, by qualifying City to  the quarterfinal stage of the champions league, but the significant celebration took a negative shape, crashing City out of the tournament on such memorable celebration.

Although the exit of City from the champions league leaves Pep with the chance of winning a silverware in either of Premier league or the FA Cup, but the only realistic means of winning a silverware is the FA Cup, unless City will need a miracle to win a premier league that seems decisive already.

Pep Guardiola failed to replicate what he achieved with Barcelona and Bayern Munich at Manchester City, a situation which may keep the highest earning coach in the world uncomfortable.
