Anthony Joshua produced a brilliant performance in his boxing  career to add the WBA world heavyweight title to his IBF crown with an enthralling knockout win over Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley Stadium before a 90,000 fans at the national stadium.

Joshua brought down the former unified world champion in the fifth round, before he was brought down by the Ukrainian in the sixth round, the first ever in Joshua’s 19-fight career as a boxer.

Both fighters looked determined to win the fight in the next two rounds, but Joshua offered more clinical and determined blows in the 11th round which gave him the knock out that ensured victory for the Briton.

The British landed the 41-year-old fighter spectacular uppercuts in the course of the fight which probably weakened the Ukrainian making him concede to defeat in the 11th round.

Joshua’s celebration of the victory was marked when he threw his arms into the air with shouts of victory coming from the fans who had come to cheer him up in the fight at Wembley.

While speaking after the win, the BBC reported that Joshua said “What can I say? 19-0, three and a half years in the game,”. “I’m not perfect but I’m trying, and if you don’t take part, you’re going to fail.

“As boxing states, you leave your ego at the door and you respect your opponent. So a massive shout-out to Wladimir Klitschko.”
