Chelsea beat Spurs in yesterday’s thriller to reach their 7th FA Cup final in the 21st century, more than any other side in that time, but Arsenal could also equal it if they win Manchester City today.
The win also gives Blues the opportunity to win a double if they can hold on to their position on top of the premier league table as well as win the final of the FA Cup irrespective of who they play in the final.
Spurs seem to be the closest rival to Chelsea as far as the premier league is concerned as they are currently four points behind the league leaders.
The win over Spurs in the FA Cup semifinal seems to be a way of saying Spurs are no longer threat to Chelsea in their endeavours.
Both teams who now know their fate as far as the FA Cup is concerned will now turn their attention to the premier league during the midweek. Chelsea will be hosting Southampton at Stamford Bridge while Tottenham will visit Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
