Manchester City have unveiled her new kits ahead of the 2017/2018 season which is expected to begin sometime in August according to reports from the official website of the club.

According to images available on the club’s website, the latest instalment features a round neck blue shirt with a white trim, white shorts and maroon-banded socks, just as it did 50 years ago when Joe Mercer’s Blues were crowned champions of England for the 1967/68 season.

Pep Guardiola’s men will benefit from a strip which enhances their performance, with a shirt and shorts that expand when moving to maximise ventilation and socks which feature Nike Grip technology for improved connection between foot and boot.

Leroy Sane is hoping the current crop of City stars can emulate their 1967/68 predecessors and create equally fond memories for fans when wearing this new kit.

“I’ve loved my first season with City,” the winger told the club’s website.

“We work hard to play fast, exciting and attacking football and we’re looking forward to creating winning moments for our fans.”

The honour of first wearing the kit will go to Manchester City Women, who will sport the new look in the FA WSL Spring Series game against Sunderland this evening.

And after lifting three trophies during the previous campaign, Steph Houghton is eyeing another successful season in the Club’s new attire.

The City skipper added: “We are continuing to build an exciting project here at Manchester City and want to keep achieving success, blending our emerging talent with our more experienced players.”
