Manchester United emerged victorious after beating Ajax 2-0 in the final of the Europa League Cup to win her first ever Europa League title. The victory came on a night after a Dutch Cow which is famous for predicting match results, predicted ahead of the match that Ajax would win the title.
United came into the match emotionally down after the city of Manchester had been attacked by terrorist claiming 22 lives and several casualties, but the sorrow which the ugly incident carried along with it would be calmed by the victory recorded by Jose Mourinho’s men in Friend’s Arena stadium in Stockholm.
The win also sees United through to the champions league after they finished sixth position in the premier league, giving England an opportunity to have five representatives in the champions league next season. But Mourinho’s men will also have an opportunity to win the uefa super cup when the next season begins when they will be expected to play either of Madrid or Juventus.

United’s captain Wayne Rooney who was brought in with just one minute left to end the match would be glad to end his stay at United in such a significant manner, lifting the first ever Europa League title for United on a day that seems to be his last day of play for the club he has given his services to after he left Everton 13 years ago.
There may have been heavy criticism against Jose Mourinho’s style of play and the decisions he made, particularly putting all his eggs in one basket by pursuing the Europa League and giving lesser attention to supposed key premier league matches. But the result of tonight game is a clear evidence, Ajax did the playing and United did the winning. What is important here is result, and if United claimed two trophies in Mourinho’s first season, then it is was a successful season.
The victory also makes Manchester United the fifth club to win all European main titles joining Juventus, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Ajax.
