Germany Gets Vital 3-2 Win In Thriller Defeat of Australia

World Cup champions Germany, got a thriller win after beating Australia 3-2 in their first group stage match of the FIFA 2017 Confederations Cup at the Fisht Stadium, Sochi.

Stindl put Germany in early lead before Rogic leveled up for Australia in the 41 minutes, the game seemed to end in a first-half draw before the Germans got a penalty which was converted to goal in the 44th minutes by Draxler, giving the German side a lead before half time.

A 48th minutes strike from Goretzka put the Germans in ahead for the second time before a third goal again. However, a second goal from the Australian side put the German side in a state of jeopardy.

The situation remained same as the Germans held on to the lead with fear until the referee blew the final whistle giving the World Cup champions victory in the match.

The Germans are second on the group table with three points, while Chile remain on top of the table with three points after 2-0 win over Cameroon.
