Real Madrid were crowned champions of Europe for a record 12th time at Cardiff City, after beating Juventus 4-1, in what could be better described as their easiest champions league title in the last four seasons to become the first club to retain the title

Madrid who have now won three champions league in four seasons had it tough with Athletico in previous two finals with both matches going into extra time.

Ronaldo opened scoring in the 20th minutes but Mandzukic leveled up for Juventus in the 27th minutes taking the game into a draw at half time and making the game open to both sides.

Situation however became clear in the second half as the defending champions took the lead again through Casemiro’s deflected goal in the 61st minutes, before Ronaldo poked in another in the 64th minutes. Juventus became frustrated but Asensio’s 90th minutes goal was a heavy blow that killed the morale of Juve.

Unfortunately, Juventus that was seen as most defensive side enroute the final by conceding just two goals, eventually conceded four goals in the final. Confirming that they can only be a good side in two-legged matches but are weak in one-off final just as Barcelona feasted on them two season ago.

Real Madrid will now have a date with Manchester United in the UEFA Super Cup clash in August, while United will be pursuing a third trophy, Madrid will be hoping to win four.
