Saint Petersburg stadium is the venue for the opener in today’s FIFA’S Confederations Cup, as host Russia are set to face New Zealand in opening match of the tournament.
The 68,000 capacity stadium will also be the venue for the opening ceremony of the event, and it is also expected to host the final match as well as the closing ceremony of the event.
The FIFA’s Confederation’s Cup is a tournament of its own, and it is the second most recognized football tournament for men after the FIFA’s World Cup.
The tournament was first hosted in 1995 at Saudi Arabia as the Riyahd Cup.
