Manchester United have given Brazilian wonder-kid Gabriel Martinelli the chance to earn a move to Old Trafford side.
According to reports from Manchester Evening News, it was confirmed that the highly-rated youngster has been invited to spend some time in Manchester while the club’s coaches run the rule over him.
Jose Mourinho’s first-team squad lost 1-0 to Barcelona on Thursday in a pre-season tour of America, Martinelli was given a run-out for a United youth XI 24 hours earlier.
The Brazilian wonder-kid who plays for Brazilian side Ituano, came on as a substitute during a 2-0 win over Lincoln Under-18s at Sincil Bank.
The club’s website confirms he replaced Nishan Burkart after an hour of the match.
The Mirror further reported that “a crowd of more than 2,200 turned up to see the United kids record a well-deserved win with goals from Millen Baars and Brandon Williams”.
