Mesut Ozil has said he wants to stay at Arsenal and will discuss his future with the club after the pre-season tour of Australia and far China according to report from the BBC.
The 28-year-old former Madrid midfielder is under contract with Arsenal until 2018, but there have been heavy speculations over his future in the past few weeks.
Ozil was reported by BBC on Wednesday to say”It is definitely my preference to stay,”.
“Once everyone is back in London, we will sit down and discuss the future. I have always said that I feel very good at Arsenal.”
Arsenal will play Sydney FC on Thursday and Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday, before heading to China for two further games.
Arsene Wenger’s side will also face Bayern Munich on 19 July in Shanghai and Chelsea on 22 July in Beijing before returning to England ahead of the next season.
“For now the most important thing is our pre-season and getting through the tour, training and getting fitness,” added Ozil, who joined Arsenal from Real Madrid for £42.4m in 2013.
“I have always said that I feel very good at Arsenal.”
