Tottenham are now the latest club faced with the heavy task of putting an end to Manchester City’s unbeaten run in the premier league as they travel to Etihad on Saturday to face the league leaders.
Pochettino’s men ended Manchester City’s six consecutive match win last season with a 2-0 victory, which saw Pep Guardiola’s men begin to shrink.
It was also Spurs who ended Chelsea’s 13 consecutive win last season, and will be very glad to replicate same when they land at Etihad this season.
In fact, Tottenham have not lost to City in their last four premier league meetings, which also gives them an advantage ahead of their clash. More so, their last match against City at the Etihad Stadium was a dramatic 2-2 draw that saw Spurs come back from 2-0.
But maybe its a little bit different again this season, Spurs have failed to win any away match in their last five matches and have also not been able to score a single goal from away against the top six teams that they have played so far, they lost 2-0 to Arsenal and 1-0 to Manchester United.
Their only victory against a top six team was against Liverpool, where they beat Klopp’s men 4-1, they however lost to Chelsea by 3-1, making it a bit difficult to ascertain how they could face an in form Manchester City.
Interestingly, Manchester City have not spared all those teams who played a role towards their title dream last season neither have they lost at Etihad this season, they could extend this to Tottenham who need a win to ensure they maintain their advantage over Liverpool.
Its really going to be a tough one, but the chances of Tottenham getting a draw let alone a win at the Etihad stadium this season is 45%, City are currently in top form, they are capable of winning any match.
