GOLD COAST – Nigeria’s Ndidi Nwosu has won gold in the women’s Para powerlifting with a score of 110.4 at the Carrara Sports and Leisure Centre on Tuesday 10 April, while Louise Sugden of England won silver with 89.2 points.
No bronze medal was awarded for the game because there were four competitors in the game
In another light, Nigeria’s Lucy Ejike won silver medal in the women’s lightweight Para powerlifting final at Carrara Sports and Leisure Centre on same day.
On whether she dropped her body weight to gain advantage and improve her score, Lucy said “Yes. I dropped 4kg from my normal body weight
On her future plans and whether she has thought about retirement:
“I’m going to keep going (with Para powerlifting) until I get tired. I’m not tired yet.”
On her pride in Nigeria’s success in Para powerlifting (EJIKE’s compatriot Esther OYEMA won gold):
“I feel so great because Nigeria is number one in Para powerlifting.”
