Oluwatobi Wins Nigeria’s First Gold In 100m Hurdles

GOLD COAST - Nigeria's World Indoor 60m hurdles finalist Oluwatobiloba Amusan has earned Nigeria her first Commonwealth 100m hurdles gold medal within a time of 12.68 on Friday April 13 at the Carrara stadium. 20-year-old Amusan came to the fore in the second half of the race to claim an historic win and Nigeria's second gold medal of the evening session (Friday 13 April), following Suwaibidu Galadima's victory in the men's T47 100m final. Upon winning the gold medal, the 2015 world 100m hurdles champion Danielle Williams of Jamaica was left with no option than to settle for silver in 12.78, while her compatriot and former world U18 champion Yanique Thompson settled for bronze (12.97). The victory means Nigeria have now moved to 8th position on the medal table with 8 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals
