Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has guided his side to finish the season with 100 points in the 2017/2018 premier league, the first in the history of the league.
Gabriel Jesus scored in injury time of the second half to give City the deserved victory against a stubborn Southampton that were at the verge of disrupting City’s dream of reaching 100 points.
Pep Guardiola described the feat as “Magnificent” praising his players whom he said are champions and have helped him achieve this feat.
This is the first time in the history of Pep Guardiola to win a league title with 100 points, a feat which he could not achieve while in charge at both Barcelona and Bayern Munich. His highest points was 99 points while in charge of Barca in 2009.
Pep was quoted by BBC Sport to say: “What can I say, 100 points! We won 50 points at home and 50 away. It’s massive. One hundred points is magnificent.”
The victory also means City finish the league 19 points adrift Manchester United who are their closest at the end of the season.
