Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has embarked on a personal scouting mission to Belgium enable him watch his prospective midfielder ahead of the January transfer.

According to reports, the former Chelsea boss went to take a closer look at Axel Witsel whom he is looking up to as Belgium beat Iceland 2-0 in the UEFA Nations League.

The source further disclosed that “This may well have been the case, but according to Belgian outlet HLN, Mourinho was actually in the country to watch Witsel.

The 29-year-old is currently at Dortmund, where he has helped the team climb to the summit of the Bundesliga.
