Sergio Aguero scored a sensational hat-trick to return City to the second position on the table and reduce the gap between them and league leaders to two point.
It was the Argentine’s 14th hat-trick for City and it demotes Arsenal to the sixth position on the table making Manchester United who won an earlier game against Leicester City move to the fifth position.
The victory also means Unai Emery and his new club will have to understand that Gunners is still work in progress and will require more patience to enable them get to that level which they desire.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola who spoke after the match told BT Sport that “Aguero was born with goalscoring talent” following his hat-trick before the home fans which also earned him Man of the Match.
The victory means attention will be shifted to Monday evening match as Liverpool travel to West Ham United to continue their quest to increase the gap which City has reduced after their home win.
