Super Falcons and Barcelona forward Asisat Oshoala inspired the Super Falcons to a 2-0 victory against Korea in their second group match.
In a match that appeared tough but was needed by the African Champions. Asisat struck in the second half to seal the victory after a comical own-goal from Kim Do-yeon in the 29th minutes put the Falcons in the lead.
The Barcelona forward who played like a Lion emerged as the Woman of the match, to crown her effort.
Nigeria lost her opener by 3-0 to Norway and a win was needed to keep the team’s progression to the knockout stage alive.
The victory means Supers Falcons hope of reaching the knockout stage is alive with one match left against host France.
A win for Super Falcons against France will mean they will qualify, while a draw or lose may put their qualifications to subject of best losers.
