Nigeria’s para-power-lifters left the country yesterday night to Kazakhstan where they are expected to take part in the World para Powerlifting championship.
The event tagged Astana 2019 is a mandatory championship which also serve as qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
The contingent comprises of officials, 15 athletes made up of male and female in different categories.

Much will be expected from the team at the qualifiers, as the Para-powerlifter have become a major source of medals for Nigeria at the Olympics.
It will be recalled that in their last international outing at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia. Nigeria’s Para team conquered the world, grabbing medals in all the sports they entered for.
