Thembinkosi Lorch struck in the 85th-minute to give South Africa the only goal that was produced in the match.
The victory also means South Africa will have a date with Nigeria on Wednesday in a quarterfinal clash. Where they will attempt to secure their third victory against Nigeria.

South Africa’s victory ended Egypt’s hope of winning the title for the fifth time on home soil. It also ended Mohammed Salah’s dream of winning the title after winning Europe’s biggest trophy in Club football last season.
