Ghana’s hope of breaking their 37 years AFCON title drought came to an end as Tunisia sent them packing after penalties.
Tunisia’s goalkeeper Ben Mustapha became the hero in the clash, coming from the bench in the 120th minutes to save Caleb Ekuban’s penalty.
Tunisia would have won the match during regular time, but substitute Rami Bedoui headed the ball into his own net with his first touch on the ball.
Sending the game into an extra time that failed to yield a goal for either side of the team.
Tunisia now reach the quarterfinal stage to set up a place with Madagascar on Thursday at Al Salam in Cairo.
