African champions Cameroon have succeeded in putting an end to the winning streak which African teams started-off with at the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup going on in Brazil.
The Cameroonians who went into the game with the euphoria of sustaining what Nigeria and Senegal did in their openers got a shocking 1-0 defeat from Tajikstan.
The result gives the Central Asian side a perfect way to start, after humbling African champions and getting away with maximum three points.
Though the Cameroonians created scoring chances, they however failed to level up let alone get a win just as Nigeria and Senegal did in their openers.
Tajikistan were determined and extremely organized in the defense line. And this made the Young Lions hope of scoring a mirage during the duration of play.
Cameroon’s greatest hope came with just 20 minutes to end of game, when Shuhrat Elmurodov was dismissed for a second yellow card. However, the failed to take advantage of a 10 man side to get a goal.
