The 3rd edition of the Africa Para Badminton Workshop kicked off yesterday 6th of November inside the Gymnastics Hall of the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
The 4-day event which will end on Saturday, 9th of November 2019 is aimed at developing and sharpening the skills and coaching abilities of coaches and players of Badminton.
The event which is an initiative of the Badminton World Federation (BWF),and the Badminton Confederation of Nigeria has a total of 15 African in attendance, which also includes host, Nigeria.
The workshop is anchored by a team of high-profiled Badminton tutors led by Anton N. Ivanovic from Russia. Others are Annirao Daje (Mauritius), Ahmed Reda Badr (Egypt) and Nonvide B. Bokpe (Benin Republic).
This is the first time Nigeria will be hosting the event, and the President of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria, Francia Orbih Esq, constituted high powered committee headed by the Vice President of the Federation Alhaji Mohammed Maina.
The event which is arguably the largest assembly of the participants from African countries was declared open by the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development Mr. Sunday Dare, who was ably represented by his SA on Sports Development, Ambassador Mary Onyali.
The event continues today November 7th, 2019 at the same venue for the second day.
