Nigeria’s Enugu Rangers survived a late elimination by edging out Togo’s ASC Kara to enter the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup today.
Rangers who played on home soil beat the Togolese side 1-0 to get an aggregate of 2-2. They however progressed on account of an away goal which they scored last week in Togo.
Eziekwe Chinonso’s 12th minutes goal made the difference, as the home side defended the goal jealously to ensure they did not concede any.
Rangers now join Enyimba as the second Nigerian team at that stage of the championship in this edition.
