Golden Eaglets To Face Netherlands In Round of 16

For the first time since the inception of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 1985, the Golden Eaglets will be facing Netherlands.

The draw came up after the conclusion of the group fixtures in the early hours of today. Nigeria who finished top of group B were pitched to play best losers either of Group A (New Zealand), Group C (Chile) and Group D (Netherlands).

The three teams finished with three points each, but New Zealand were eliminated for having three-goal deficit.

The Netherlands who finished third in group D scaled through to the round of 16 to book an appointment with Nigeria.

Nigeria will play Netherlands by 12 midnight on Tuesday November 5.

The Eaglets will be looking forward to pursue their sixth title when they meet with the Dutch.
